Acclaimed American guitarist and singer-songwriter, John Mayer has announced a handful of UK dates to take place in June 2008.

The dates are:

24th June: Carling Academy, Birmingham. (Buy tickets)

25th June: Manchester Academy, Manchester. (Buy tickets)

27th June: Carling Academy, Brixton. - there are some pre-sale tickets already available for which you must be registered to Live Nation and the rest of the tickets go on general sale at 9am tomorrow (Friday) morning. Ticket information can be found here.

28th June: Hard Rock Calling Festival, Hyde Park, London - John Mayer will precede Sheryl Crow and Eric Clapton, with whom he has collaborated before, on the first night of London's Hard Rock Calling Festival. - For the full line-up and information on how to get tickets, visit the official Hard Rock Calling website.

John Mayer is poised for a spectacular return. Performing 2 sold-out shows at London's Royal Albert Hall this week, the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter/guitarist - who wowed crowds at Live Earth and counts Eric Clapton, Burt Bacharach & Kanye West among his many superstar admirers', releases a deluxe version of his Grammy Award-winning, double-platinum LP 'Continuum', October 15th.

Complete with a bonus DVD, the album - the Number 1 LP in i-Tunes history - is a masterclass in songwriting that was described by The Daily Telegraph as "A gem".
