Despite 'Great DJ' being their first Columbia Records single release, The Ting Tings have come up with yet another masterful DIY plan on how to get their music out to the masses, or rather any fan lucky enough to get their paws on one of these bespoke pieces of indie-pop memorabilia.

Katie and Jules plan to head off in search of a load of old 7" records from numerous car boot sales and charity shops in and around Manchester. They are then going to turn the sleeves inside out and customise them to create new sleeves for their single - all hand made and highly individual.

A very limited quantity of the single will available for sale on the NME tour dates. In order to buy a copy of the single fans beware - you need to hand over the cash and then an old 7" which the band will take and customise the sleeve for the 7"s to be sold through key retailers on 3rd March.

In addition to the commercial release of these no doubt highly sought after pieces of art meets music, the single will also be available to buy as a hand artworked limited edition CD - a first for the band - and as a download.

If you can't wait until March 3rd to get hold of the song, the demo version of 'Great DJ' will be available on 26th January as a free download for a limited period through Bebo's Free Single Saturday promotion in conjunction with iTunes available at www.bebo.com/itunes-uk.
