Glasvegas release a new single, Flowers & Football Tops, taken from their self-titled gold selling debut album, on Monday 23rd February. Flowers & Football Tops, will be available on CD single, two live 7" inch vinyl singles and download (February 22nd).
The CD features the bonus song Cruel Moon (live), limited edition, coloured vinyl 7" One ("Live from Barrowlands" 16/12/08) includes Flowers & Football Tops (live from Barrowlands) on the A. side and Stabbed (live from Barrowlands) on the B.side and 7" Two ("Live from Polmont" 18/12/08) has Flowers & Football Tops (live from Polmont) on side A and Polmont On My Mind (live from Polmont) on side B.
Last week the band appeared on the David Letterman Show in New York and played a sold out show at the Bowery Ballroom. Their tour continues onto the West Coast, with Carl Barât in support on his debut solo dates, for more sold out shows in Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles, culminating with a performance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (January 14th). These dates coincide with the release of their debut album in the US last week.
Glasvegas debut album was included in the Best Albums of 2008 in The Observer MM, NME, Q, Mojo, Uncut, The Independent, The Fly, The Sun, Daily Telegraph and Metro. Its not just on their home soil they are being lauded, in Sweden they have been nominated for three prestigious Rockbjornen Awards -International Act, International Album and International Song for Geraldine.
Glasvegas play their first shows in Japan later this month before returning to the UK to headline the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2009 with Friendly Fires, White Lies and Florence & The Machine in support.
